Upon Reflection…50th post!

Yesterday’s post was my fiftieth on The Domestic Princess – I can’t quite believe it’s been only three short months since I launched the blog.  I have been overwhelmed by the support and encouragement you have all shown, and for that I’m truly thankful!  I absolutely adore writing posts for The Domestic Princess and hope you all enjoy reading them, as much as I love putting them together.

I would like The Domestic Princess to continue to grow and evolve, and to make sure the content I produce is current, relevant and of a high quality for all my lovely readers.  So, this is where I need your help and input.  I would be really grateful if you could take a few minutes to have a think about the questions below and to take 5 minutes to answer them in the comment section.  Or, if you would prefer, please feel free to email me at thedomesticprincess@gmail.com.

Oh, and before you get answering, if a post has struck a cord with you, I would love it if you could write a little comment in the comment section.  One of the ways that can help a blog grow and to feel like a community is through people leaving comments and engaging with each other.  Some of you have been so kind in emailing me when you’ve enjoyed a post or it’s resonated with you.  I so enjoy receiving them, but if you could pop it in the comments section, I would love them (and you!) even more.  Don’t be shy!  And one final favour (I promise….. well for the time being….), if you haven’t already spread the word, please tell anybody and everybody about The Domestic Princess; the checkout lady in Wholefoods, Sainsbury’s, or Waitrose, the air hostess on your flight, your friend, pharmacist, doctor, dentist, I mean everybody!  Please spread the word!

Finally, the questions!

  • Which post(s) have you enjoyed the most?
  • Which post(s) haven’t you enjoyed?
  • Are there any topics that you would like to see appear on The Domestic Princess that I haven’t covered?
  • Do you find the posts informative and interesting?
  • Are there any topics that you would like to see more of on The Domestic Princess?
  • Would you like to see more, or fewer posts on a weekly basis?
  • Do you read any other blogs?  If so, which ones?  And what do you enjoy about the other blogs?
  • Does The Domestic Princess standout over other blogs?  If so, why?
  • Would you like more “life” type posts, such as the “friend” one?
  • Would you be interested in writing a guest post for the site?  If so, what would you like to write about?
  • What can I do to improve The Domestic Princess?
  • Is there anything that The Domestic Princess is missing?
  • Do you have any suggestions / ideas for future posts?

I would love to hear what you think on any, or all of the above questions.  So grab a cup of tea, coffee, wine – whatever takes your fancy, and please take five minutes to give me your thoughts so I can make sure that I’m writing about topics you’d like to read about.

Thank you!

With much love
The Domestic Princess

  1. DM, answers to your questions…..
Post I enjoyed most: The kids applications and pumpkin soup 😉
Post I least enjoyed : Kitchen utensils…..my lack of skills in the kitchen are known so wont even go there 🙂
Any other topics: anythign on travel…including kids would be very useful….love the site you introduced me to that gives me discoutns on hotels….yeah my trip to London.
Informative and Interesting: yes…more up to date on fashion then I have ever been…(although that is not hard to beat…hmmmm)
Current number of posts works for me as a working girl…dont get a lot of time.
    Do I read other blogs….ABSOLUTELY NOT 🙂
Can’t compare your blog as i dont bother with any other…cx
Life Posts: loved your friend post really hit a cord…. not ‘self help’ (i hear Alice laughing) but reminds me to remember the things that are of value…particularly my friends.
Would I like to write a guest post: No I am far to boring…you will lose readers left right and centre…
What to improve: nothing that i can think of?
Anything mising: not that I can see
suggestions for future posts…travel with children, some grown up toys…ooops did I just say that? kidding, i’m obviously bored.
This is the longest response to anything non work I have written in about 6 mths but more then happy for one of my favourite people…thanks DM.cxxxx

  2. I enjoy reading them all. A few more on making healthy filling soups would be something that I’d find particularly helpful. I also think there’d be a lot of interest in good deals for travel. You’ve got very good organising skills and a good nose for seeking out bargains!

  3. Perhaps a blog where followers can list their pet hates; words they find comforting; sounds that evoke snatches of relaxation (i.e. coffee machine in action); life-long memory of a special event (such as flying to the North Sea to land on a gas rig!); phobias conquered; domestic disasters (such as when a neighbour’s cooker failed when she was in the middle of cooking for eight guests at a dinner party – and you were asked to help out in the emergency and cook the meal at your house, and then run the casseroles, saucepans, etc. back to the hostess!).
Good luck for the next 50 blogs!!

  4. I’ve loved all of the posts so far and look forward to each one. I think 3 is just the right amount per week. I’m always on the lookout for a good book to get stuck into, so would love some recommended reading? I have a few of my recent favourites that I’d love to share xx

  5. I love your posts DP – they brighten up my day when they ping into my inbox :-)) I particularly like your recipes as they really do go step by step – and I need that!!!! I love your “reflection” posts – its great to see the connection you have with your topic. Your “friends” post made me sob – but it also made me think that we are nothing without friendships…. so I will work extra hard to cherish the friendships I have.
I’d love to see a post on handy tips around the house – I bet you have so many suggestions and tips tucked up your sleeve!!! :-))
    Keep them coming DP xxxxx
